1st USGBC LEED® Gold New Construction Certified public high school in the United States.
New, 21st Century, 252,000s sq.ft., 600 student high school was the 8th LEED© certified school project in the world, the 1st LEED® Gold Certified public high school in the United States and Wisconsin’s first LEED© Certified school.
Daylighting was used as the integrated design strategy to achieve a cascading net effect of 40% energy savings over a typical school building.
The new school was built and furnished at 23% below the average high school construction costs* at the time. The new building was constructed 30 ft. from the existing high school, which remained in-service during constrution.
